Dates

Ok, put on your creative hats, what are some of your most creative (or just favorite) dates. -That you have done or might just want to do. Sometimes when your married it's hard to find the time/energy to keep the fun dating nights alive, so I thought I could maybe get some ideas. They can be simple or elaborate, anything goes! Let's see what everyone can come up with- we could all benefit from this!

One weekend, Ben and I decided to have a "camping" themed date, which was actually pretty fun! After we put Lydia down for bed, we made foil dinners, then we "roasted" marshmallows over the stove (after one try of that, we just did it in the microwave) and made some s'mores. We then made a fort in our living room for a tent and played some card games together. It was actually really fun. I think it was one of the most creative- and one of the cheapest- dates we've done!

I know, I already chimed in, but I thought of another one. We had a candle lit dinner together, and then afterwards, we had some pieces of paper in some balloons (it would probably be easier to do in a hat) and on each paper, it said something like "rub feet for 5 min each foot", or "rub back for 5 min" etc, and whoever picked the paper would do it to the other person. It was soo relaxing and a great way to get those much needed massages after a long day! (kinda romantic too :)I'm excited to hear everyone else's ideas!!

We had a fear factor date one time where there were I think 4-6 couples and we had to climb a rock wall, ice-block down a hill and grab flags, and eat worms. It was a lot of fun and I'd recommend that type of date to anyone! (I didn't eat any worms though, fyi!)But you could get really creative with that one!

hi, some of you know me and some of you don't but I am Kacie's friend from college and Whitney's too..and well, Shayne. anyways hope you don't mind me commenting on the family blog (although a lot of people used to ask Kacie and I if we were sisters)here are some fun things we have done on dates to give you some more ideas.
1- went on a short hike and then had a picnic
2- frisby golf at the park -we use our own regular frisby's and use trees and poles as destination points
3- a progressive dinner at various fast food/resturants. we did this with another couple. First we went for chips and salsa or appetizer at place 1, then main dish at place 2 , then root beer floats at place 3. You can pick any combo of food or places. But fun to get out and about.
4- HIgh school plays are kind of fun and can be inexpensive. some are better than others.
5-sometimes we just invite other couples over (no kids) for game nights and dessert.
6-make smoothies and watch a movie.
